Construction Defect Claims Migrate

The need to reform construction liability laws is gaining support in several states as construction defect claims become more substantial and more than just a California problem. At issue for the construction and insurance industries is the growing number and severity of construction defect claims that have arisen after periods of high construction growth. Scott C. Turner, a San Francisco attorney who represents property owners and construction policyholders, said that in California and a growing number of other states construction defect claims could become the next major liability crisis for insurers.
