Kansas Governor holds fate of doctor exemption

A bill to exempt the practice of medicine from the Kansas Consumer Protection Act was mired in legislative limbo last week, but was approved by the legislature shortly before adjourning its regular session in the wee hours of Wednesday morning. The legislation, originally designated House Bill 2530, would change the Consumer Protection Act so it would not apply to the “rendering of or failure to render professional services by a physician or other health-care provider.”
